Meditation is a way of exerting a more direct influence
on your mental states. It gives you a way of working on
the mind, with the mind. Meditation gives us more
clarity and space. This in turn fosters creativity. The
mental chatter that usually goes on in most people’s
minds gives way to a highly enjoyable feeling of
lightness and peace. Neuroses and destructive
elements of our thinking are replaced by a broader,
more inclusive, integral perspective. It will become
much easier to focus your mind and concentrate.
"Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." -1 John 4:4

Meditation:
The ability to concentrate at will is extremely beneficial and will lead to greater self-confidence, inner
strength, will power, focus and freedom from obsessive or upsetting thoughts. Many people cannot
concentrate for more than a few seconds at a time, their minds jump around from thought to thought; the
mind is constantly chattering away with endless noise. This dims the mind’s true power and
effectiveness. The ultimate goal of meditation is to attain a state of “single pointed-ness” of mind and
then, transcend the mind. Meditation is, without question, one of the most worthwhile and valuable
practices anyone can undertake on a regular basis.
Within a few months of daily practice, using a good technique that works for you, you will experience an
increase in overall awareness and optimism. Eventually, you may experience surges of joy and love that
come up from your inner being. Warm, loving emotions begin to permeate your awareness so that your
mind and heart merge into a unified faculty that perceives things in a fresh and much brighter light.

"Everything is based on mind, is led by mind, is fashioned by mind. If you speak and act with a polluted mind, suffering will follow you, as the wheels of the oxcart follow the footsteps of the ox. Everything is based on mind, is led by mind, is fashioned by mind. If you speak and act with a pure mind, happiness will follow you, as a shadow clings to a form." - The Buddha

How It Works:
Meditation leads to a single pointed
concentration whereby we acquire a great
power; our energy and focus does not dissipate.
With increased concentration we can do more in
less time. This is why it is said that if you
meditate you will find you have more time in your
day. Through meditation we gradually improve
our powers of concentration; this focus can be
used for any activity we engage in.
When we live in the “thinking mind”, we are usually preoccupied with the past or future. When we spend
our energy dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, we shut down our natural conscious
creativity. When we learn to silence the mind, and live in the current moment, we realize that we have far
more potential than we originally thought. Some of the great thinkers and scientists were able to make
important discoveries when they could immerse themselves in their work, to the exclusion of all else.
To access this source of creativity we just need to quiet the mind. Meditation helps us to live in the
current moment, and thus can help us to unlock our creative potential. Through meditation we develop
a lasting inner peace and joy that is not contingent on other people or the outside world.
